Social and Economic Impact Studies of Gambling in Tasmania

The Gaming Control Act 1993 requires that an independent review of the social and economic impact of gambling in Tasmania is conducted every three years. The studies are funded through the Community Support Levy.

Tasmanian research

The Gambling Support Program commissions locally-focused research on specific subjects. A list of research reports is provided at Tasmanian research.

Campaign evaluations

The Gambling Support Program delivers a range of community education campaigns to prevent and reduce gambling harm. The GSP regularly evaluates these campaigns to determine their effectiveness and find areas of improvement for future campaigns.

Australian Gambling Statistics

Australian Gambling Statistics (AGS) is a comprehensive set of statistics related to gambling in Australia, covering the entire range of legalised Australian gambling products. The publication has been produced since 1984, and is compiled annually by the Queensland Government Statistician's Office in co-operation with all Australian state and territory governments.
