Community and Disability Services

Community and Disability Services facilitates programs and services and provides policy and legislation advice to support people in Tasmania.

The Community Services unit funds programs, counselling, and support services to raise awareness and help people effected by violence, abuse, and gambling, as well as financing the Neighbourhood House program.

Disability Services are responsible for disability-related policies, working in collaboration with people with disability, alongside funding disability advocacy organisations. Current work in this area includes improving accessibility and rights for with people with disability in Tasmania through new reforms and legislation. This unit also works with the Commonwealth Government to help facilitate the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
