Aboriginal Partnerships
The Office of Aboriginal Affairs works in partnerships with Aboriginal organisations and people to deliver Government funding and services. The Office provides an Aboriginal voice to guide and advise the Tasmanian Government on policy issues affecting Tasmanian Aboriginal people. The new Aboriginal Partnerships approach works to embed Aboriginal led co-design processes and Aboriginal knowledges across all government agencies.
The Office is tasked to oversee and coordinate the Government’s significant Aboriginal Affairs agenda, informed by the views of Aboriginal people, which includes the Truth-Telling and Treaty processes, as well as Closing the Gap to improve better social, cultural and economic outcomes for Tasmanian Aboriginal People.
