Community Partnerships and Priorities

What we do

Learn from Tasmanian Aboriginal people

  • Listen, and are guided by Tasmanian Aboriginal people and learning from their knowledge and applying it to contemporary policy to achieve real outcomes for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in Tasmania.

Partner on Community Priorities

  • Work in partnership with Tasmanian people and communities to bring their voice and views to the centre of government decision making and co-design responses to community priorities.

Value Community Capacity

  • Lead strengths based whole-of-government policy initiatives, programs and services that recognise that lived experience and self-determination enhance and strengthen cultural, economic, and social outcomes for the whole Tasmanian community.

Enhance Equality, Access and Participation

  • Increase opportunities for all Tasmanians to be equal – to be supported, valued, included and engaged in community life.

Provide Quality Policy Advice

  • Provide high quality policy advice to the Tasmanian Government in relation to the Ministerial portfolios of Aboriginal Affairs, Community services and development, disability services, women, the prevention of family and sexual violence, child and youth wellbeing, and veterans and general community participation for diverse communities such as older Tasmanians, multicultural Tasmanians, volunteers, and LGBTIQ+ Tasmanians.

Fund community grants and services

  • Deliver a wide range of grants and funding to services that provide help, essential support, and opportunities for Tasmanians, and represent community interests to Government.
