Premier's Disability Advisory Council

The Premier's Disability Advisory Council (PDAC) was in place from 2007 and concluded on 30 June 2025 as a result of the introduction of the Disability Rights Inclusion and Safeguarding Act (2024) that Act has established a Tasmanian Disability Commissioner who will establish a Disability Inclusion Advisory Council.

Its primary purpose was to assist the Premier and Government to implement Tasmania’s Disability Plans with the last one Accessible Island: Tasmania's Disability Framework for Action 2018-2021 being superseded by Tasmania’s Disability Strategy 2025-2027.

PDAC has played an important role in advising the Tasmanian Government on access and inclusion for people with disability. The legacy of PDAC’s work will continue through policy, practice and people’s real-world lives.
