The Gambling Support Program is guided by a Strategic Framework, which describes the program’s approach to reducing harm from gambling. It sets out a roadmap to make sure all activities work towards the same goals.
Gambling Support Program Strategic Framework 2019-2023 (PDF 4.4MB)
A new framework will be developed to reflect changes in the gambling environment, however the 2019–2023 Framework remains reflective of the current priorities of the Gambling Support Program.
The Gambling Support Program is funded through the Community Support Fund (CSF).
The CSF is primarily funded from levies on electronic gaming machines (EGMs or pokies) in Tasmanian hotels, clubs and casinos. The CSF supports gambling harm minimisation purposes such as support services and programs, early intervention and preventative initiatives, research, and community development projects.
The CSF is established under Section 151A of the Gaming Control Act 1993 and the Gaming Control (Community Support Fund) Regulations 2023.
You can read more about the CSF on the Department of Treasury and Finance website.
