Devonport High School student James Thompson researched Lance Corporal Morton Ernest Beswick for the Frank MacDonald Study Tour.

Lance Corporal Beswick was from Ulverstone, in Tasmania.  Frank MacDonald was also from Ulverstone. Lance Corporal Beswick served with 40th Battalion. He was killed in action on 28 March 1917 on the Somme, in France.

James visited Lance Corporal Beswick's grave at Heilly Station Cemetery, in France, as part of the Frank MacDonald Study Tour  in 2014.
