2008 | Australian Government ratified the CRPD – it acceded to the Optional Protocol in 2009 |
2011 | Implementation of the NDS –a ten-year national plan to improve life outcomes for Australians with disability |
August 2011 | Release of the Productivity Commission Inquiry recommending that the Australian Government fund a NDIS |
7 December 2012 | Intergovernmental Agreement for the NDIS Launch Tasmania, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory sign bilateral agreements for the NDIS launch |
December 2012 | Release of Accessible Island: Tasmania’s Disability Framework for Action 2013-2017 |
1 July 2013 | Tasmanian NDIS Launch commences for young people aged 15-24 years |
2016-2019 | Progressive rollout of the NDIS in Tasmania. |
