Philip de Bomford

Philip de Bomford (Boma) is a fourth generation Australian Army veteran who was born in Burnie and grew up on family properties at Rocky Cape and Elliott.

Philip joined the army as a reservist in 1986 and then transferred to the Australian Regular Army in 1993 with the Royal Australian CORPs of Transport completing 27 years’ service. His postings included the Special Air Service Regiment and completing operational tours in Belieze (CA), East Timor, Afghanistan and domestic operations with the Victorian Bush Fires in 2009.

Philip is a passionate advocate for the veterans and their families and is constantly looking for ways to assist veterans. Philip is a past president and welfare officer with the Sheffield RSL Sub Branch and is an active volunteer fire fighter.

Philip is supported by his two sons Jack and Tom.

Philip is a Property Manager overseeing the daily running of a beef, sheep and agritourism property, near Sheffield, and wilderness property at Lake Lea in the Cradle Mountain area.

In his spare time Philip enjoys family time, the outdoors and running his own hobby farm and bed and breakfast in Sheffield.
