Victor Valentine Hetherington
A young wife and two young children were left to mourn the loss of Private Victor Valentine Hetherington, of Sheffield Tasmania.
Long after the war was over, the Sheffield community commemorate members of the community who served.
Sheffied is now a famous mural town. Private Hetherington's portrait appears in a mural by artist Damian Rossiter, which was commissioned by the town of Sheffield for the Centenary of Anzac.
When Jim Austin, the RSL representative on the Frank MacDonald Memorial Study Tour 2018, visited Private Hetherington's grave he left a photo of the Sheffield mural to show that Private Hetherington is still remembered by the Sheffield community.
Jim Austin researched Private Hetherington for the Frank MacDonald Study Tour and presented his research at the gravesite.
