Sergeant George Charles Williams MM

Sergeant Charles George Williams was a veteran of Gallipoli and the Western Front. During the course of World War One he was wounded three times and earned the Military Medal and Bar for bravery in the field.

Sergeant Williams died on 22 May 1959 at the age of 64 from cancer in his neck and face where he had been wounded. His grandson, Peter Williams, concluded "World War One had taken 40 years to kill him".
