  • Jasmine Brennan of Rose Bay High read her research about World War One Gunner Arthur Sampson when she visited his grave in Belgium.

Travelling to the Western Front in Europe taught Jasmine Brennan of Rose Bay High School, in Tasmania, a lot about her great-great-uncle, Arthur George Sampson.

Standing alongside the grave of the World War One Gunner Arthur Sampson, in the Perth Cemetery, (China Wall), Belgium, paid tribute to her relative.

Arthur Sampson, 30, of the 1st Field Artillery Brigade, was killed in action on 15 August 1917.

Jasmine was a member of the Frank MacDonald Memorial Study Tour which visited the Western Front in France and Belgium in 2014.  Each student and member of the tour researches a soldier who served in World War One.
