As part of the Tasmanian Government’s election policy ‘Supporting Our Veterans’, the Government committed to provide $225,000 to establish a partnership with the Parks and Wildlife Service to provide an active recreation program for returned service personnel.

Point Assist will receive $225,000 over three years to provide an outdoor recreation experience for returned service personnel in a National Park environment, which provides a challenging outdoor experience, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing, and links to training pathways and employment in outdoor education or eco-tourism.

The involvement of ex-serving personnel in the development and delivery of the program has been stipulated, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing and links to pathways to training and employment in outdoor education and/or eco-tourism.
