Mabel Miller was an able and active public figure in Hobart for twenty years.
She was born in Broken Hill and came to Hobart in 1930. She was the first woman to be elected to the Hobart City Council (1952) followed by several terms as Deputy Lord Mayor (1954-56, 64-70).
