Frank MacDonald Memorial Prize Study Tour 2025-2026

The Tasmanian Government’s Frank MacDonald Memorial Prize winners have been announced, with this scholarship providing an incredible opportunity for young Tasmanians to learn more about Tasmania and Australia’s wartime history.

The Prize includes an international study tour to the Western Front in France and Belgium to visit places that are significant to Australia’s WWI story. The Tour is scheduled for April 2026.

Congratulations to the eight winners of the Frank MacDonald Memorial Prize for 2025-2026. The winners are:

  • Maeve Kok-Connors, St Patrick’s College
  • Henry Smith, The Hutchins School
  • Elsie Oldfield, Taroona High School
  • Charlie Blundell, Clarence High School
  • Molly Oldfield, Taroona High School
  • Jackson Kennedy, Sacred Heart College

These eight bright Year Nine students have shown exceptional understanding and passion for the sacrifices of our servicemen and women.

The Frank MacDonald Memorial Prize is a study tour for approximately 14 days.  The tour party will also include two teachers and a Tasmanian Government Tour Leader.
