COVID-19 Sport and Recreation Grants Program Tranche 3

Overview

The Tasmanian Government acknowledges the impact of COVID-19 and resulting sporting competition postponements and cancellations on revenues for the organisations that support these activities.

Tranche 2 of the COVID-19 Sport and Recreation Grants Program provided sport and recreation clubs and associations with grants of up to $3 000 to assist with hygiene and equipment purchases to comply with the relevant Return to Play plan.

Tranche 3 was extension of Tranche 2, providing sport and recreation clubs and associations with grants of up to $3 000 to assist with hygiene and equipment purchases to comply with the relevant Return to Activity/Play or Safety plans. Organisations are funded on a ‘first-in’ basis. Organisations funded under Tranche 2 were not eligible to apply for Tranche 3.

Community Support Levy

Funding for the COVID-19 Sport and Recreation Grants Program Tranche 3 is allocated from the Tasmanian Government's Community Support Levy (CSL). The CSL is funded from a percentage of the gross profits from gaming machines in hotels and clubs in Tasmania.

All applicants funded under this Program must comply with any COVID-19 requirements and restrictions for events in place at the time of their event, including the Tasmanian Government’s A Framework for COVID-19 Safe Events and Activities in Tasmania.
