The Tasmanian Men’s Shed Association (TMSA) is the peak body for Men’s Shed in Tasmania. The TMSA currently represents 72 Sheds, which collectively have over 3,000 members. Men’s sheds provide a vital role supporting the health and wellbeing of members by reducing social isolation, encouraging participation, and sharing experiences and expertise in a safe environment.
(See the Tasmanian Men's Shed Association's website for details about Men's Sheds in Tasmania including information about how to start up a Men's Shed in your area).
The TMSA Grants Program supports capacity building, men’s health and wellbeing, including mental health initiatives, and the sustainable development of Men’s Sheds in Tasmania. The Grants Program also funds tools, equipment, machinery, or other related items that are not considered capital works, permanent or fixed upgrades to the Sheds themselves.
It is the TMSA’s vision that access is available to Sheds for all members to share, collaborate and engage with each other, for each other and the community.
The TMSA Grants Program provided maximum funding of $175,000 in 2024-25.
The maximum amount of funding that an eligible Men’s Shed applied for is $10,000 to support:
