The Tasmanian Government recognises the valuable contribution of Tasmania’s women and is committed to gender equality. To celebrate and promote the contribution of Tasmanian women to their communities, the Tasmanian Government funds a competitive grant program to support International Women’s Day (IWD) events run by local organisations across the State.
Organisations applied for the grant to hold events that:
Events take place on or around International Women’s Day (March 8). The Department of Premier and Cabinet may, at its sole discretion, consider exceptions to this timeframe.
The total funding pool was $20,000. Organisations applied for grant of up to $2,000 for each application. All funding is subject to terms and conditions, which will be outlined in the Grant Agreement with successful applicants.
Applicants who applied must:
Organisations that are a current grant recipient from the Department of Premier and Cabinet, or previously with Department of Communities Tasmania (Communities Tasmania) and whose reporting and acquittal obligations have not been met, will not receive funding until those obligations have been resolved.
The Department of Premier and Cabinet strongly encourages organisations to ensure International Women’s Day events and activities are welcoming and accessible to people with disability. The most effective way of ensuring access for everyone is to think about access at the earliest planning stages of an event.
