Recovery funding arrangements

The Office of Security and Emergency Management coordinates the activation of relief and recovery financial assistance under:

• the Tasmanian Relief and Recovery Arrangements; and
• the Australian Government Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.

Tasmanian Relief and Recovery Arrangements

The Tasmanian Relief and Recovery Arrangements (TRRA) are the primary way for the Tasmanian Government to provide financial assistance to communities and local government for relief and recovery during or after an emergency event. The TRRA comprises:

• The Personal Hardship and Distress Assistance Policy provides assistance for individuals and families;
• Natural Disaster Relief to Local Government Policy provides financial assistance for councils;
• Community Recovery Policy provides financial assistance for small businesses, primary producers, not-for-profit organisations and community recovery programs.

Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements

The Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements are the primary way the Australian Government provides disaster relief and recovery funding to states and territories.  For more information see the Australian Government’s DisasterAssist website.
