Energy efficiency

Aged care facilities

Residential aged care facilities operate around the clock, which means the cost of their energy use is high. The aged care sector is a growth industry for Tasmania, and presents an excellent opportunity to look at how they might reduce their energy costs and achieve significant savings.

The Tasmanian Government has run a project to deliver a series of energy audits in residential aged care facilities. Level 2 energy audits have been completed on nine residential aged care facilities to identify current energy usage, areas where efficiencies can be made, and recommended actions to achieve energy efficiency and cost savings. You can read more about the audits and watch the workshop video on the Sustainable Living Tasmania website.
