The Tasmanian Local Government Consolidated Data Collection (CDC) is publicly accessible via the Land and Information System Tasmania (the LIST).
The CDC includes financial, infrastructure, human resources and planning data for Tasmania’s 29 councils. The data is in raw form and has been validated, but not analysed.
Find out more about the Tasmanian Local Government Consolidated Data Collection, including how to access the datasets.
LG DATA ‘snapshots’ analyse and present the data from the CDC (and other sources). Each snapshot includes information about a theme that is of interest to the public or the local government sector.
To provide comparisons between similar councils, information is grouped according to the Australian Classification of Local Governments (ACLG). This takes into account council size, population and density.
All snapshot data is sourced or derived from publicly available information, such as the Tasmanian Local Government Consolidated Data Collection, Tasmanian Auditor-General reports and Australian Bureau of Statistics catalogues.
