The Australian Government decides which projects will receive funding.
Before they are submitted to the Australian Government, all projects will be reviewed by the Tasmanian Government. This merit-based process ensures that all submitted projects are eligible and align with state and local priorities.

The Federal Minister for Emergency Management and the Premier announced the outcome of Round Two for Tasmania on 28 August 2024.
Round Two sees investment of over $15 million in Tasmania to deliver 17 local resilience projects.
Under the program, the Australian Government is investing more than $7.5 million in these projects including $4.5 million towards four infrastructure projects; $2.4 million for 11 systemic risk reduction projects; and about $600,000 for two combined systemic risk reduction and infrastructure projects.
The Tasmanian Government, local governments, and other Tasmanian organisations are collectively investing $8.1 million into the projects.

The Federal Minister for Emergency Management and the Premier announced the outcome of Round One for Tasmania on 7 June 2023.
Tasmania received more than $14 million in funding for 19 projects that will focus on building resilience in the state. This is matched by funding from within the state, resulting in a total investment of $30 million in critical resilience building projects for Tasmania.
Approved projects include community resilience and awareness projects, investment in infrastructure, erosion mitigation strategies, data collection and sharing, and emergency response equipment.
