After my baby was born, I did not expect it would be so hard to get help. The constant message I received from doctors and medical professionals was that the pain and distress I was feeling were all normal because I had "just had a baby". I experienced extreme physical pain and discomfort from a long and difficult labour, and when I was finally given a medical examination after asking multiple times, medical staff questioned why I was reacting so “extremely” to the pain I felt during the physical examination.

My baby is three now and I have still not been able to find a diagnosis or treatment options for my birth injuries, and I have not been able to return to a normal healthy life. I feel ashamed of my body, and I can't even run around after my toddler. Although I would like to have another baby and give my toddler a sibling, I feel too scared to give birth again.
