During my time as an employee at the North West Regional Hospital a full time Infection Control Nurse Manager/Consultant was available at the facility to educate and inform all levels of staff on how to respond to threats from super bugs, present or imminent virus and disease. Strict procedures, work place practices and updates were vital to maintaining patient/staff health and safety, particularly with regards to quarantine and isolation. Was this position of Infection Control Consultant removed or downgraded from the North West Regional Hospital prior to the COVID-19 outbreak and if so why?
