Dear colleagues

I am pleased to update all State Service employees on the upcoming Tasmanian State Service Employee Survey 2026 ahead of our launch date of 22 September.

Hearing directly from you about your experiences, challenges and opportunities for improvement is essential to ensuring we continue to build a capable, connected and supportive State Service.

From 22 September 2026, you will have an opportunity to share your perspectives and ideas about working in the Tasmanian State Service through the Tasmanian State Service Employee Survey.

The insights gathered help us better understand what is working well, identify areas for improvement and inform actions to strengthen our workplaces and workforce into the future.

I encourage everyone to take part when the survey opens. Your feedback is important and contributes to a broader understanding of employee experiences across the State Service. The higher the participation rate, the more representative the results will be and the better equipped we will be to make informed decisions about future workforce priorities and improvements.

The survey is voluntary, anonymous and confidential. It is delivered through a partnership between the State Service Management Office and ORIMA Research, with safeguards in place to protect your privacy and ensure individual responses cannot be identified.

When the survey opens, you will receive a separate email from your head of agency containing your individual survey link and further information about how to participate.

Information about the survey, including key resources and frequently asked questions, are available on the TSS Employee Survey webpage. I encourage you to visit the webpage throughout the survey period for further information and support.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to have your say and contribute to shaping the future of the State Service.

Kind regards

Kathrine Morgan-Wicks PSM
Head of the State Service
