Hello everyone,

I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to the 123 Tasmanian State

Service employees recently honoured at this year’s Premier’s Long Service

Recognition Awards. Reaching 25, 40, or 50 years of service is a remarkable

milestone, reflecting an extraordinary level of dedication to our state.

This year’s celebrations took place across Tasmania, and I was delighted to host the

Hobart presentation. My sincere thanks to Amanda Russell, Deputy Secretary of the

State Service Management Office DPAC, for stepping in to host the ceremonies in

Launceston and Devonport while I was on annual leave. Sharing the stories and

accomplishments of our recipients in front of their colleagues, family, and friends is

always a privilege.

Our recipients represented a broad cross-section of agencies, professions, and

expertise. Whether supporting our health system, guiding students in our schools, or

keeping essential state operations running smoothly across the many and varied

areas represented in this cohort. The contributions over several decades have

helped shape and support the Tasmanian community.

On behalf of the Tasmanian State Service, thank you once again to all 2026 Long

Service recipients for your enduring commitment and outstanding service to

Tasmania.

Kind regards

Kathrine Morgan-Wicks PSM
Head of the State Service
