More than a place for men to meet

The Tasmanian Government is a proud supporter of Tasmania’s Men’s Sheds. We recognise the important place Men’s Sheds have in communities and the role of the Tasmanian Men’s Sheds Association in advocating for, and supporting, sheds across Tasmania.

Did you know Tasmania has the highest number of sheds per capita in Australia?

Men’s Sheds across Tasmania

Men’s Sheds support the health and wellbeing of Tasmanian men by providing a safe place for members to connect and share, while working on community projects.

Most sheds offer a range of activities, including woodwork, welding, metal work, car maintenance, computer skills, gardening and furniture restoration.

While Men’s Sheds are usually a men’s health initiative and have been designed and developed for men, some sheds also offer membership to the wider community.

Find a Men's Shed near you at the Tasmanian Men's Shed Association website.
