If you want to help recognise outstanding Tasmanian women, we want to hear from you!

Expressions of Interest are now open to join the assessment panels for the new Inspiring Young Women’s Award and the prestigious Tasmanian Honour Roll of Women.

About the Awards

The Inspiring Young Women’s Award: Celebrates young Tasmanian women who have shown strong ability, commitment, or achievement in their chosen field, passion or area of interest. This includes women with transgender and/or non-binary experience.

The Tasmanian Honour Roll of Women: Established in 2005 to honour Tasmanian women and women’s organisations who have made a positive difference in their communities.

Nominations for both awards are currently open and close on 30 September 2026.

What’s involved?

Each panel will include up to five community members who will review and assess nominations for the awards. The panel will be chaired by a senior official from the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

Panellists will:

  • Review and assess all nominations
  • Apply consistent and fair judgement based on the award criteria
  • Participate in a panel meeting (October 2026)
  • Contribute to finalising award decisions

Panel members must act with integrity, maintain confidentiality, and declare any conflicts of interest (for example, personal or professional connections to nominees).

Participation on the panel is voluntary.
