Budget news

The Premier has today announced a new agency - Renewables, Climate and Future Industries Tasmania - which will take a whole-of-government approach, and provide the necessary advice to ensure that investment in renewable energy, along with climate change, are strategically considered.

The Tasmanian Climate Change Office is pleased to be part of the new agency, where we will continue our important work on climate change mitigation and adaptation policy and programs.

Curious Climate Schools

Following the successful Curious Climate Tasmania program that travelled the State answering climate questions, the Curious Climate Schools program has now been launched.

Researchers from the University of Tasmania (UTAS) want to answer students' questions about climate change. If you are a teacher or home educator to Tasmanian school students from Grades 5-12, you can take part.

The program will support teachers to collect climate change questions from students. UTAS experts will answer questions, either in person, via video call, or through the Curious Climate website. The website will be available as a resource for students around the State.

Register by Friday 17 September 2021 to take part. Visit the Curious Climate Schools website for more information.
