Information and advice for State Service employees

The Guide for Acknowledgement of Aboriginal People and Country and Welcome to Country has been designed as a tool for State Service agencies to develop consistent whole-of-government practices.

The guide is for use by all State Service agencies and is intended to provide information and advice to all State Service employees who are organising and delivering activities, meetings, projects, programs or events relating to Aboriginal people, cultures, practices or history.

This guide represents an important step towards all State Service employees and agencies improving their understanding, respect and recognition of Aboriginal world views and unique ways of working. This includes the importance of cultural protocols and ceremonies, encouraging culturally inclusive work practices and valuing the cultural diversity that enriches and motivates the work we do.

Supporting resources

These resources are for use by State Service agencies only.
