Dear Colleagues
The Premier has yesterday announced the details of the Cabinet reshuffle he foreshadowed last week.
The Premier has explained the rationale behind the portfolio changes in his media release, which you can read here: https://www.premier.tas.gov.au/site_resources_2015/additional_releases/new-rockliff-government-cabinet. The changes see a number of portfolios reallocated to different Ministers.
The Premier and all Ministers will attend Government House on Tuesday afternoon, 25 July 2023 for the swearing in ceremony.
Secretaries and leadership teams within Departments will work with Ministers and their Offices where portfolio responsibilities have changed to ensure they are supported and to establish strong lines of communication. For some areas, a process of incoming minister briefings will commence too. Your Head of Agency will be in touch as appropriate to make these arrangements within your Department.
The full list of ministries is below for your information.
My thanks go to the staff who will help to support these changes right across government. I know those of you directly affected will work with your new Ministers with the same level of professionalism and commitment the Tasmanian State Service always shows.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your Manager, and as I said, your Head of Agency will be in touch with more information if your Department has been affected by the changes.
