Australia Day 2023 Honours List (27 Jan 2023)

Dear Colleagues

It is my great honour to pass on my congratulations to the 29 Tasmanians who were yesterday recognised in the Australia Day 2023 Honours List.  The awards were announced by the Governor General and reflect achievements from across a broad range of experience and contributions to our State.

Among those pre-eminent people were the names of a number of our colleagues from across the State Service.

This year, the awards include a COVID-19 Honour roll, recognising individuals within the honours list for their contribution, service or achievement specifically relating to the extraordinary circumstances and response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

I congratulate the following officers for their awards, and know that their colleagues from across the State Service would join me in an acknowledgement of this wonderful achievement.

The Public Service Medal

Commissioner Donna Louise ADAMS APM - for outstanding public service through leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ms Mandy Ellen DENBY - for outstanding public service as Director of the Public Information Unit within the Tasmanian State Control Centre during the COVID-19 pandemic

Mr Craig Anthony LIMKIN, for outstanding public service in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr Dale Edward WEBSTER, for outstanding public service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Australian Police Medal

Senior Constable Kelly Anne CORDWELL – for dedicated contribution to Tasmania Police

Inspector John Gerard TOOHEY – for dedicated contribution to Tasmania Police

Commander Stuart Adrian WILKINSON – for dedicated contribution to Tasmania Police

The Australian Fire Medal

Mr Neil Ross BROOKSBANK – for dedicated contribution to the Tasmanian Fire Service

Mr Richard Edward COSSTICK – for dedicated contribution to the Tasmanian Fire Service

Mr Wade Edward STEWART – for dedicated contribution to the Tasmanian Fire Service

The Emergency Services Medal

Mr Brett Matthew ROBINS – dedicated contribution to the State Emergency Service

Mr Leon Alfred SMITH - dedicated contribution to the State Emergency Service

Mr Neil Graham WRIGHT - dedicated contribution to the State Emergency Service

The Australia Corrections Medal

Ms Erin Louise HUNN – dedicated contribution to the Tasmanian Prison Service
