Dear colleagues
Like many of you, I have been deeply saddened by the tragic event that has occurred at Bondi Beach overnight. Even though we’re not in New South Wales, news like this can still feel very close to home and affect us personally and professionally.
I want to acknowledge that these events may bring up difficult emotions. Please remember that support is available whenever you need it. Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers confidential help to all staff, and details are available on your agency’s intranet.
A Tasmanian Lifeline 1800 98 44 34 is also available to provide support to you and to anyone in our community.
In times like these, it’s important to take care of ourselves and each other. Check in with your colleagues, offer a listening ear, and give yourself space if you need it. Let’s also hold on to our values of inclusion, unity and community. These values matter more than ever when the world feels uncertain.
You’re not alone. Help is always here if you need it, and together we can ensure our workplaces remain supportive and compassionate.
Thank you for looking out for one another and for continuing to serve the Tasmanian community with kindness, care and integrity.
Take care,
Kath
