Premier’s Long Service Recognition Awards 2025 (12 Nov 2025)

Hello everyone,

I wish to congratulate all 134 members of the Tasmanian State Service who recently received a Premier’s Long Service Recognition Award.

These incredibly dedicated state servants received awards for 25, 35, 40 and even 50 years of service.

The recipients are from a range of agencies and have been recognised for their longstanding contributions.

I had the privilege of being the MC at both the Hobart and Launceston events this year, with the wonderful Trudy Pearce, Deputy Secretary Schools and Early Years, stepping in to MC in Devonport. I know Trudy echoes my sentiments in saying what an honour it is to read out the biographies of attending recipients and celebrate their varied and impactful careers, surrounded by their loved ones and colleagues.

I would like to personally thank this year’s recipients for giving decades of service to the Tasmanian community. Many of them have spent most, if not all of their working lives in the State Service, navigating many changes and embracing new ways of working.

While they represent a range of different professions, what connects them is an enduring commitment to improving the lives and prosperity of Tasmanians, whether that is treating patients in our hospitals or teaching students in our schools. No matter the working area, your service is important and valued.

The Premier’s Long Service Recognition Program is coordinated annually by the Department of Premier and Cabinet, with three events hosted by the Premier around the state.

The presentation events are always a great way to celebrate long service and catch up with colleagues both past and present. But for recipients who were unable to attend this year’s events for any reason, I sincerely hope you still take a moment to celebrate your achievements, whether that is within your teams or privately with loved ones.
