Kathrine Morgan-Wicks, Head of the State Service, message to all staff

Premier’s Long Service Recognition Awards (11 Nov 2024)

Dear colleagues

I wish to congratulate all members of the Tasmanian State Service (TSS) who are receiving a Premier’s Long Service Recognition Award for 40 or 50 years of service.

The State Service plays an essential role delivering government programs and services to the Tasmanian community, which is highlighted by the diverse roles of this year’s award recipients.

This year, 89 state servants are being recognised for their longstanding contribution across a range of Agencies – a very impressive number indeed.

I would like to personally thank this year’s recipients for giving decades of dedicated service to the Tasmanian community. Many of them have spent most, if not all, of their working lives in the State Service, witnessing a great deal of change and embracing new ways of working.

The Premier’s Long Service Recognition Program is coordinated by the Department of Premier and Cabinet, with three events to be hosted by the Premier (or representative) around the state in Hobart, Burnie, and Launceston.

The presentation events are a great way to celebrate long service and catch up with colleagues both past and present. I sincerely hope all recipients take a moment to celebrate their achievements, whether that is at an event this week, within your teams, or privately with loved ones.

On behalf of all of us in the Tasmanian State Service, thank you again to all recipients for your valuable service.

Your sincerely

Kathrine Morgan-Wicks
