Dear Colleagues
As you are aware, the State Election was held on Saturday 19 July and we are now waiting for the Tasmanian Electoral Commission to confirm the results.
Please note the caretaker period continues until the outcome of the election is clear. It is important the Tasmanian State Service (TSS) remains apolitical and we continue to follow our responsibilities detailed in the Caretaker Conventions and Guidelines.
If you have any questions about the Conventions, please contact your manager in the first instance. If you have further queries, please reach out to caretaker@dpac.tas.gov.au
As TSS employees, we must also continue to uphold the State Service Principles, described in the State Service Act. As a State Service, we continue to be apolitical and perform our functions in an impartial, ethical, and professional manner.
Until the incoming government is formed, the current government remains in place with the Premier and Ministers continuing in their respective roles. The administration of government and business as usual continues.
I will provide you with another update once the outcome of the election is confirmed. In the meantime, I want to sincerely thank each of you for your ongoing professionalism, dedication, and flexibility.
Kind regards
