Appointment: Secretary Department of Health (31 Oct 2024)

Dear colleagues

Earlier this year, the Premier announced that a recruitment process would commence to recruit to the position of Secretary, Department of Health Tasmania. I chaired the panel which led the nationwide search, with Gary Swain, Secretary Department of Treasury and Finance and Michael Walsh, Director-General of Queensland Health, joining me on the panel.

I am very pleased to announce that Dale Webster PSM was the successful candidate.

For many of us across the State Service, we know Dale in his capacity as acting Secretary and Deputy Secretary in the Department of Health. Dale’s leadership has been invaluable and his demonstrated expertise in policy development, public service leadership, multi-agency collaboration, and service reform, will be an asset for the health sector and as he continues to lead this agency in its responsibilities.
