Strengthening our international relationships

The Tasmanian Government hosts official visits to the state by high commissioners, ambassadors and consuls-general. It is expected that these diplomats make an official visit to each of Australia's states and territories during their tenure representing their country.

A bespoke itinerary is developed that reflects both their country's interests in Tasmania and our interests in their country and its products. Every effort is made to ensure that Tasmania and its economy benefit from official visits by diplomats.

Visitors are provided with extensive briefings on Tasmania's primary and secondary industries. Itineraries include visits to both government and private enterprise.
