Aboriginal Employment

The Tasmanian government is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce that is representative of the wider Tasmanian Community; a workforce that recognises the value, unique skills and knowledge that Aboriginal employees bring to the workplace.

The Aboriginal Employment Strategy 2022 is the result of an extended collaborative effort, led by the State Service Management Office, to increase the number of Aboriginal employees in a range of occupations and levels across all State Service Agencies from 3% to 3.5%.

The Aboriginal Employment Strategy was launched on Wednesday 5 June 2019 and is supported by an Action Plan 2019-2020, outlining the actions to be undertaken during the first 12 months of implementation.
