People Directions is a long-term, strategic action plan that identifies and provides integrated solutions and approaches for common issues faced across the state service workforce.  It is about achieving long-term change, to enable us to deliver quality service into the future.

People Directions is a people management framework that is integrated, business-focused and flexible.

The framework is relevant at both a whole-of-government and agency level.

To achieve success in the future, our people management will need to focus on:

• knowing who we are, what we do and why we do it
• attracting and retaining the right people
• developing and recognising our people capability
• leading and managing for the future
• shaping our workforce and performance.

These form the key focus areas/themes of the framework and incorporate a number of core projects that will assist agencies in developing tailored solutions for their particular requirements.
