The Public Sector Management Office (PSMO) provides advice on employment and management policies and practices, Tasmanian employment legislation and senior executive appointments in the State Service. The Office undertakes research, analysis and policy development on industrial relations issues for the Minister and provides advocacy on behalf of the Government, both state and national industrial tribunals. Training, development and education are also provided by PSMO.

The Training Consortium (TTC) operates within PSMO. TTC provides services to a number of State, Commonwealth and Local Government bodies, government business enterprises, private sector organisations and the University of Tasmania all of whom recognise the need for a coordinated response to the training needs of their employees.
