The Office of Aboriginal Affairs (OAA) in the Department's Community Development Division is the primary resource for and adviser to the Government on policy issues affecting Tasmania’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population.

The vision of the Office of Aboriginal Affairs is:

To advance Aboriginal affairs in Tasmania through the provision of quality advice and assistance to the Tasmanian Government and through effective support to the Aboriginal community of Tasmania.
