The Local Government (General) Regulations 2015

The  Local Government (General) Regulations 2015 took effect on 29 June 2015.

The Local Government (General) Regulations 2015 (the Regulations) support the Local Government Act 1993 (the Act) by setting out the rules for

  • electoral advertising
  • treatment of gifts and donations received by elected members
  • electoral procedures
  • treatment of election disputes
  • council tendering and contracting
  • councillor allowances and expenses
  • other miscellaneous matters under the Act
