Stage 2: Gathering information

The second stage of the decision making process involves the council administration compiling and preparing information for elected members. This information will help you to make an informed decision about each of the issues that have been put forward for consideration.

The council report provides you with advice and information to support decision making. Council reports should contain relevant data, issues and options which help elected members to consider the matter at hand and make a decision. The report should be well written, clear and concise.
