Standards for Boxing and Combat Sport Contests

Communities, Sport and Recreation (CSR) has developed a regulatory model to protect the interests and safety of those involved in professional and amateur boxing and combat sport contests through providing best practice standards, developed in consultation with the industry and Tasmania Police.

The Standards for Boxing and Combat Sport Contests (Standards) came into effect on 1 June 2013, and all boxing and combat sport contests in Tasmania are required to be conducted in accordance with the Standards and Section 49B (1) of the Police Offences Act 1935.

The Standards were updated in August 2016 following a review and consultation process with the peak industry bodies and key stakeholders.

If you require further information or want to apply for recognition of a governing or sanctioning body for your upcoming contest/s, please contact us on 1300 252 476.
