Using your card interstate and abroad

Using your card interstate

Seniors Card Programs operate in each Australian State and Territory. Most businesses involved have agreed to offer discounts to Tasmanian Seniors Card holders. However, it is best to ask the business if they provide a discount to interstate Seniors Card holders prior to making a purchase.

If you are planning to travel interstate, contact the Seniors Card office in the relevant state or territory for a copy of their Directory.

Using your card in New Zealand

Tasmania's Seniors Card holders can now reap discounts and savings in New Zealand following a reciprocal arrangement between the Tasmanian and New Zealand Governments.

New Zealand's SuperGold card will also be able to be used to obtain discounts when travelling in Australia.

The initiative is an exciting development for the many older Tasmanians and New Zealanders planning to indulge in some trans-Tasman travel.

Participating businesses and tourism operators that have opted to extend their discounts to overseas visitors will also benefit from more exposure to a larger market.

The New Zealand SuperGold Card program has 1,300 businesses representing more than 5,600 outlets participating in their program in New Zealand. Many of these will now be extending their discounts to Tasmanian Seniors Card holders.

Please note that this new agreement excludes all other concessions offered by both the Tasmanian and New Zealand Governments.
