Women in local government

Women's involvement in government is vital to the social and economic well being of communities, particularly at the local government level.

To encourage more women into local government, a co-operative approach has been adopted by the State Government and the Australian Local Government Women's Association (ALGWA). ALGWA's principal aim is to support women's participation in Local Government.

To find out more, visit the ALGWA Tasmanian Branch website.
