Liveable Communities Grant Program

In May 2017, the Tasmanian Government released the Strong, Liveable Communities: Tasmania’s Active Ageing Plan 2017-2022.

The Liveable Communities Grants Program is one of the key initiatives developed to support implementation of the Plan. Funding will be directed towards innovative and strategic projects that aim to make local communities more responsive and inclusive of the needs of older people.

The program will provide funding for interested, well-placed and strategically-ready local councils or local government authorities to run a pilot project in their community, to improve its liveability.

Applications will be assessed against the following criteria:

  1. Your project must clearly address one or more of the key features of the liveable community outlined in the guidelines.
  2. Your project must benefit older people.
  3. Your project is innovative and has the potential to create change.
  4. Your application details how the grant will be used and how the project will be delivered, including an outline of partnerships and support from others.
  5. Your project is based on sound and realistic project planning and represents value for money, with applications that include other sources of funding given higher priority.

Applications for the Liveable Community Grants Program closed on 9 October 2017. Successful applications are listed below.
