Community Participation and Appeals Fund

The Community Participation and Appeals Fund was established in July 2015 to support significant community events, as well as charitable appeals.

The Fund aims to encourage participation in community and cultural events, and to facilitate the Tasmanian Government’s contribution to raising funds for worthy community appeals.

The Fund is a closed grants program with recipient organisations identified by the Tasmanian Government. Six events and four community appeals currently benefit from the Fund:

Prior to the Fund’s establishment, these events and appeals have had to seek funding on an annual basis. The intent of the Fund is to provide these important events and appeals with funding certainty, by allowing them to enter into multi-year funding agreements, due to expire in 2018-19. This will allow each organisation to better plan for the future, and continue to stage events that have become an important part of Tasmanian community life and contribute to community pride and participation.
