The Finance Branch delivers a range of financial and budget services that support the operations of the Department. The activities of the branch are governed by the Public Account Act 1986, the Financial Management and Audit Act 1990 and Treasurer’s Instructions.
The major activities of the branch are:
- Manage, monitor and report on the Department’s financial position, including preparation of the financial statements
- Develop and implement financial policy, including compliance with relevant legislation
- Manage and coordinate the Department’s budget
- Maintain and develop the Department’s financial management information system
- Manage the Department’s debtor and creditor processes
- Coordinate the Department’s insurance.
